The Grama Panchayat is an association of elected representatives responsible for the administration of Panchayati Raj institutions. For a Grama Panchayat, it is the main committee that implements the decisions of the Grama Sabha (Village Assembly) and manages the day-to-day administration.The main components of the Panchayat are:President: The head of the Panchayat. They preside over meetings and oversee the overall functioning of the Panchayat.Vice President: Assumes the responsibilities in the absence of the President.Ward Members: Elected representatives from each ward (electoral division) of the Panchayat.Standing Committees: These are sub-committees formed to facilitate the Panchayat's decisions on matters like finance, development, and welfare.
